Counseling

No matter when you were harmed by sexual violence,
it’s never too late to begin to heal.

We Offer Specialized, Trauma-Informed Counseling Services Tailored To Your Needs

DARCC has short-term and long-term individual counseling as well as groups to help on your healing journey.

Free bilingual counseling services are available to Texas residents aged 13 and older who are either survivors of sexual violence or are loved ones of survivors. We recognize the continuum of sexual trauma exposure, from acute incidents such as recent rape or sexual assault to chronic experiences of childhood sexual abuse.

Our counselors, licensed in the state of Texas and/or supervised by licensed staff, provide counseling services both in-person and virtually via a HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom.

DARCC counselors provide compassionate, client-centered care. We serve all survivors of sexual violence and those who support them, regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, income, ability, or religion.

  • Process Of Obtaining Counseling

If you are interested in learning more about counseling, please call our Clinical Services Line at (214) 712-4901.

When you call, you won't be asked or expected to discuss details about your experience(s). We'll collect your name, phone number, email, age, and answer initial inquiries about our services. If you wish to proceed, we will send you intake paperwork. After completing the paperwork, you can schedule a 50-minute intake assessment to explore our services further and determine your counseling and advocacy needs.

For after-hours support, our 24-hour sexual assault hotline is available at (972) 641-7273.

  • What To Expect From Counseling

At DARCC, our counselors strive to create a safe and welcoming space where survivors and their families can find support.

Our counselors specialize in gold-standard, evidence-based trauma practices, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

We'll meet you where you are on your healing journey, whether it involves processing past experiences or developing coping strategies for the present.
